Dream Seeds

June 30, 2009

In your heart, keep one still, secret spot where dreams may go and sheltered so may thrive and grow. (Louise Driscoll)

EnchanteurPlanting

Consider an event that took place in the nineteenth century.

An ancient Egyptian tomb was opened and in the tomb a portion of a tree was found. Embedded within the wood of this tree lay a seed. Scientists involved with this expedition planted the seed out of curiosity, merely to see what would happen. Low and behold, 3000 years later the seed grew and became what it was meant to become. It had missed its chance in ancient Egypt but its strength of life had remained intact, had lain dormant and waiting for the next opportunity.

The seeds that Enchanteur has collected are seeds waiting for an opportunity to become what they are destined to become.

Use the comment tool to consider what you think these seeds, waiting to be planted in rich Lemurian loam might grow to become. Meditate upon times that you have tried to plant such seeds and they failed to sprout. Contemplate why they did not flourish and what will be different now.

  1. Many times before in years past I have planted the seeds…seeds of love, seeds of friendship, seeds of desire to do certain things or accomplish certain things. Even if some things were accomplished, the fruits usually came back bitter and spoiled, not all, but most, to be sure…now I have come round about, not full circle, but moving in generally the same direction as before, but with more definition, more sure of myself and what I want for my destiny. I have new seeds to plant, new winds for my sails, new paths to tread…

  2. E has provided me with a packet of dream seeds. It was tucked inside the travel sac she provided, not readily distinguishable as to its purpose or intention. The packet itself – plain brown paper like the type parcels from my grandmother would come packed in – parcels always filled with some special little treasure, always cherished by me. Somehow I knew, looking at the packet, that it too contained a treasure to be cherished.

  3. My dream seeds are poems, little pieces of the dark regions of my unconscious mind that come drifting upwards from the depths to walk behind me in the shadows of my soul. Perhaps I shall set up a Dream Seed page whereI might plant some of my little fragile seedlings…….
