The Piper’s Call
May 6, 2009Le Enchanteur is the alter ego of Heather Blakey, webmaster and creator of the Soul Food Cafe. It is le Enchanteur who takes travellers, when the veil is thin and the portals are open, into Lemuria, world of her dreaming.
The call of le Enchanteur, to come and meet with her, to drink from the elixir of creativity, within Lemuria, is irresistible. For over five years members of the Soul Food Cafe have been responding to the call of the Piper, have followed le Enchanteur, mastered the art of blogging and fearlessly trekked the roads and mountain pathways of Lemuria.
I go to make my destiny.
May many another youth be by me inspired to leave the snug safety of his rut,
and follow fortune to other lands.”
“God, how the wild calls to me.
There can be no other life for me but that of the lone wanderer.
It has an irresistible fascination.
The lone trail is the best for me.”
Verse by Everett Ruess

Each night, as the clock strikes twelve in Gilead, someone, upon hearing the call of Le Enchanteur, comes through a portal into the mysterious world of Lemuria, ready to undertake the long and dangerous trek to Rainbow Beach via the famed Serpentine Road.
A Portal To Lemuria
by Heather Blakey
This trek involves traversing rocky mountain peaks, travelling through the Valley of the Bones, visiting the House of Soles and House of the Serpents, catching a barge to Kerith, clambering over the high mountain tops to meet the spirit of the volcano, stopping to drink from the waters of Mnemosyne, visiting places like Mudgimba and finally reaching Rainbow Beach.
During their journey participants reach the cave of the Wild Mother, work with Dream Masters and much more.
A Dream Master on the Serpentine Road

A group of stoic donkey’s wait, in the stable behind the Rose and Swan, a Gilead Tavern, for their companions to arrive. As travellers arrive they will immediately know which donkey is to be their companion. Each donkey has a special saddle bag that has been provided by le Enchanteur, the Mistress of Lemuria.
Each bag contains special talismans which will be essential on this journey. Travellers will find wild seeds, a dream catcher, tiny rock climbing equipment, an anchor, special eye glasses, a tiny orienteering kit and some first aid equipment.
At the stroke of twelve the party will set out towards the mountains, heading out along the Serpentine Road.
